Video: "When You Wish Upon a Star" on theremin

A Japanese thereminist posting under the name Chirorinmura has uploaded a video to YouTube of someone (I assume himself) playing "When You Wish Upon a Star" on the theremin.

Whoever this is, the intonation and phrasing is incredible. It's unfortunate the video is so blurry, but the quality of the performance is in my opinion simply outstanding! I hope we see more from this thereminist soon!

This thereminist is Masami Takeuchi.

I was about to say, it's definetely Masami. You can tell by his blurred face, his 91 series theremin and then distinct quality of his playing.

Ah, such a wonderful event captured on video. The performer playing sweet music in front of a quiet and completely mesmorized audience! (And, Masami plays well.)

However nobody catches reality like Rupert does in this video:

Rupert's video is taken from the performer's point of view... and shows what happens at an outdoor gig when the rain comes pouring down.

I found it fun to watch -- perhaps because I have been in similar situations where, despite my best efforts, SOMETHING happened to upstage the music.
