I've been keeping this in the top slot as long as I can. If you lucky hand wavers who are getting to go can keep us updated it'll help keep the news bubbling up for everyone.

So whos going from this end of the globe, Jen, Jon? Some day... me too I hope!

I'm only 570km (about 350 miles) away and I'll certainly be there!

I made some publicity on the french speaking theremin forum etheremin.com and some people from France and Switzerland will also partake because they'll have a French-German translator (me).

Got a couple emails about it, yes, I was desperate for a graphic to post here to help promote them and they didn't have *anything*
so I made this graphic for the news post - guess they like it - just hope it helps!

I kept all the details in the text so search spiders can find it.
Keep spreading the word you guys, sounds like it may be even bigger this year!

I'm going as well, but have no confirmation that my registration has been received. I'm probably being paranoid, but I'm so excited and would be crushed if I could not take the lessons I have signed up for.

I don't know if this has been well translated into English on their website, but in the German original version they wrote that they would send out the confirmation after the payment had been received.

I worried also last September because I had paid and got no message. Finally I phoned and was told that since this music school was on the financial side part of the administration of the city of Lippstadt, several public officials had to verify the incoming payments before the music school got the message.

But if you'd feel better I may contact Wolfgang in order to ask him if your registration is ok. In case that your real name is different from your name on myspace please drop me a message there.

I have not sent in a payment because I did not see that information. Perhaps the English translation was unclear to me or I was remiss in filling out the application in its entirety. I would certainly appreciate your assistance, Fairplay. I am in the US and do not know how to pay.

Also, Thierry, yes, my full name is Margaret Estelle Breidenbaugh.

OK, I'll call Wolfgang tomorrow and ask him if he could contact you by mail with a confirmation and detailed information for overseas payments.

Thierry, you are my savior!!! (Okay, perhaps I exaggerate, but I'd like to buy the first round if we decide to hit up a local pub while in Lippstadt!)
Thierry
Thierry 2/12/2009 5:22 AM
... Wolfgang was not in his office this morning but I'll try it again in the afternoon.

Update: I managed to talk to one of his colleagues who told me that W. would be back after 4PM (GMT+1).

So I'll call once more later...

Update:

I just spoke with Wolfgang. He received all of Margarets emails and answered immediately as he said. So all is fine and we'll be all meeting in Lippstadt.

Hallo,

thanks a lot Thierry for your help. You are right about the topic of payment. The music school in LIppstadt is a part of city council with this special administration. So this time we decided, in case of problems with payment, that it is possible to pay directly cash in Lippstadt. If there is anything not understandable on our theremin page or the registration, please allways feel free to ask per email. Thanks again! Wolfgang Streblow

Do US citizens need visa for the European Union?

Germany is a party to the Schengen Agreement. As such, U.S. citizens may enter Germany for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa.

I am in Philadelphia waiting for my connecting flight to Columbus--and I am on cloud 9!!! I will post something on my blogger page when I land again, including amusing customs stories and something about tiny bits of red and yellow paper. Yes, alcohol was involved...

These tiny bits of red and yellow paper appeared still the next morning in the hotel, at a 3 miles distance from the original crime scene...

Oh. My. Gosh!

Theremin_ohio - Margaret - your head must have swollen to the size of a small planet with all that praise.

(tags - URL etc. work better in lower case. You can edit your posts. See where it says "edit"? - top left of your posts, just next to time and date.)

Thierry - did you remember to tap one of the T-Voxes?
Thierry
Thierry 3/16/2009 1:17 PM
I could even not manage to try one out...

I have been too timid to ask someone if he or she would let me touch his/her tvox.

It seems that it happened to me the same thing with the tvox as with all the young and beautiful ladys around. I stared with big eyes but could not open my mouth...

Hi there,

I hope everybody got home safely. As an absolute beginner I just want to tell you how very much I enjoyed meeting and talking to and learning from so many skilled and gifted people. I know it's still a long way for me, but I hope that one day I'll get at least a simple melody straight.

Thanks again, especially to Wolfgang and Thomas for the excellent organisation.

Hoping to see you all next year,
Randulph (in the real world known as "Ralph")
