Flavio's Custom Guitar-Theremin-iPhone Instrument

Flavio Sosa's guitar is like no other.  Combining a regular electric guitar, an iPhone (used as a synthesizer), and a theremin into a single instrument is no small feat!  Flavio calls the instrument the "Theramine".  According to Flavio, it's the first in the world of its kind and the second featuring a theremin.  The Theramine was created specifically for the song "My Theramine", shown in the video above.

Check out more of Flavio's music at his YouTube page, on Soundcloud, or Reverbnation.

I like the composition, but I couldn't relate the movements of the player's hands with the notes that were supposedly triggered by proximity to the antenna. This may be "finger sync'd" to a recording.

One of the problems with proximity triggers activating a scale is that accurate control is impossible. This is one of the difficulties with the Moog Ethervox MIDI theremin. Believe it or not, it's actually easier to play a melody with a continuous pitch (a traditional theremin) than it is to play a scaled trigger.
