It's been almost 2 months since our last bands list update, so today we have about 30 new entries. Our favorite band name? It has to be "Rancid Yak Butter Tea Party".

TechTV's series, The Screen Savers will air a segment tonight featuring Bob Moog and will include a bit about building an Etherwave theremin. Here's a direct link to their online story:

If you're not familiar with this show, it's actually pretty cool. Ignore all the Microsoft-bashing, and you'll find some great content on the latest gadgetry, PC security, digital photography, robots, etc.

A fellow LEVNETter reminded me, today would have been Clara Rockmore's 93rd birthday. As you're practicing your theremin today, how about playing a round of "Happy Birthday" for her (minus the spinning cake, of course).

Olivia Mattis, organizer of the 1997 Theremin Festival in Portland, Maine and collector of theremins is selling one of her RCAs. Here's an excerpt from her mail to LEVNET today:

The instrument I am selling is in mint condition, fully restored, and with a beautiful singing voice. It comes with a vintage RCA speaker in excellent condition and an owner's manual (these are very rare). It also comes with memorabilia from the 1997 First International Theremin Festival, including a CD, a poster and a tote bag. I am asking $10,500 for the whole package. Such a deal!
