description
Theremin: Voice of the Ether with Bruce Woolley, Gavin Pretor-Pinney, Ruth Wall, and Charlie Draper "Bruce Woolley’s Radio Science Orchestra has at its heart one of the most remarkable of all musical instruments – the Theremin; remarkable since it remains the only instrument to be played without being touched! Not to be confused with light or sound triggers, the Theremin was invented in Russia in the 1920s, and uses a unique playing method known as “Space Control”. Bruce has teamed up with Theremin virtuoso Charlie Draper, harpist Ruth Wall and the Idler’s Gavin Pretor-Pinney for a special presentation at this year’s OIF. This will include rare film footage, and a music-led discussion about the instrument, and its mysterious Moscow inventor – Leon Theremin." http://www.orchestrainafield.com
