Hi, Andy--

You're right: as a grad student, I spent a lot of time in libraries. I even worked part-time in several. But mainly, I spent nine years working for the U.S. Office of RILM (at Cornell, not CUNY)... so part of my job involved trying to track down copies of items that Cornell didn't own.

But no, I haven't had the formal training that you've been getting... so my floppy velvet academic hat is off to you.

All best,

Br.

ah those stacks,
I worked in the Music Library as part of my work study deal and did some reasearch asst. work for the grads. But we didn't have computers much then, just one green screen terminal connecting to the main University collection and a utility for retrieving ISBNs. We thought in the future it would become effortless to find obscure scores... but we also thought we'd all have flying cars by now.

Please all, post your methods as you find things, if TW lasts long enough it may help furure seekers.

good luck!
