It's been a while since I posted the original "Where's Jason?" thread. I've had a little more time to post in the TW forums lately, so I figure I owe everyone an update on what's going on behind the scenes here.

I'm still swamped at work. My team grew considerably and I've been spending a lot of time interviewing people for our open positions. You can read more about that at my work blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonba) if you're interested.

I'm still working hard to re-implement ThereminWorld.com in ASP.NET in the cracks of spare time I get here and there. I'm doing this for several reasons: 1) we're switching hosting companies and spending 1/3 of our current hosting fees for about 10x the bandwidth and storage space, 2) the new implementation will be much faster, much more stable, and will include a ton of new features, and 3) it's a personal learning experience - something to keep my technical juices flowing while I slip further and further into the world of middle management.

Of course, the new site implementation is going slower than I'd originally planned, but I'm taking the time up front to design it to be highly scalable, very fast, and easy to maintain. It won't look much different than the current site, with a few minor exceptions.

I want to thank everyone for your suggestions and ideas to make the site better - they're all being considered very carefully. While I won't have them all incorporated in the initial rollout, I will be adding most of them over time.

So hang in there... I'm also working on bringing back the contests in the very near term - so stay tuned!

Hey folks. A quick update. I'm on vacation this week at the beach (woohoo!) and found a way to get online. I have the laptop with me and am working on the new website as I get chances (yes, that IS my idea of a fun vacation). I'm also working on getting the contests going again, so watch for those starting up soon. If I don't reply to your mail for the next few days, it's because I'm unable to get online for more than about 2 minutes without my dial-up connection dropping here. I'll get caught up when I get back this weekend.

cheers!
