In 1969 The Bonzo Dog Band set an important millstone in the history of the theremin ([i]Worst Studio Theremin Performance Ever[/i]) when they recorded Music From The Leg.

Forty years later, and the leg's builder and player, Roger Ruskin Spear is performing with Three Bonzos And A Piano, and here is a video (http://www.vimeo.com/2741269) of the leg in action in January 2009. (If you're not sure, The Leg is the object next to the sign marked "THE LEG")
Arguably Roger's technique has improved marginally (so there is hope for us all!) but he does end on a bum note!
