Charlie - there's a clue, of sorts, in ThereminzRool's profile. (It's not a real website.)

ThereminzRool - Er, welcome to theremin world?

Antennae are what insects have. Fool.

Me too. ("Fool," not "have antennae.") I just looked it up. ("Antennae" - not "fool") I've been getting it wrong.

But then again my dictionary says that an antenna is a device used to transmit or receive radio or TV signals. (That's antenna in the other sense - as far as I know insect antennae don't receive radio signals.)

They're not antennas. They're capacitor plates that happen to look like antennas. Except when they don't.

I think I'll stick with "rod" and "loop" - when they're that shape, and "plates" when they're that shape.

Sorry, that is someone I know - he's posting pictures of beans at me on another forum (I have a fear of leguminous vegetables) and has decided to take the joke too far over on this one. Moderators can feel free to delete his post, or at least remove the christing beans.

Nice friends you have.

Chris C, I have a morbid fear of ten pound notes. Please do not send me any immediately.

Also - you're a naughty boy - editing an old post to remove the context for Charlie's response. Tut tut.
