Amps for theremins

Yesterday was the first day i have ever heard of teh Theremin. i am planning on getting one soon, but only a cheap one. it is a small one also. do i need an amp?

Can you post a link to the theremin you're considering?  In general, if you want other people to hear your theremin, you'll need an amp.  Depending on the model, you might be able to just plug headphones into it too.
