"Only Test 3 gives a slightly noisy result on two encoders during the first few revolutions, then after spinning them once or twice, they remain stable at maximum/minimum."  - Mr_Dham

Thanks for testing yours!

"I've always wondered about contact cleaners. They can solve potentiometer noise problems temporarily, but don't they move the problem elsewhere? I don't know..."

That's always been my feeling too, but the reviewers seem pretty happy with that formulation.

Interesting news from Sipeed twitter.

New tiny #FPGA Tang Primer 25K Core Module~
As small as a keycap !

Based on Gowin GW5A-LV25 FPGA.

25K LUTs but on on-board SDRAM.

No schematics available on sipeed site so far.

As I can see from images - on top, there are FPGA and Flash.
On bottom - xtal, two voltage regulators, and some additional chip - probably, USB to JTAG and serial.

Wow!  It's like there's some kind of contest to make the smallest possible FPGA board.

Heavy Breathing

Two more stupid presets now posted on the support page, male and female panting: https://d-lev.com/audio/2023-06-18_pants.mp3

Been working on the librarian a bunch, particularly the interactive update menu, which seems almost done.  The update menu will now be the default action when no command line parameters are passed to it.

Maybe a stupid question...

How can I order D-Lev kit?
Cannot find ordering and pricing information on d-lev.com site...

Well, it's more of a project than a product at this point, so I'm playing it all by ear so to speak.  I sent you an email!

EPro Presets

In the latest update and on the support page are three new D-Lev presets based on samples of the EPro presets 2, 3, and 4 which were recently supplied to me.  The MP3 demonstrates each voice over 4 octaves, the first is preset 2, which the EPro manual describes as "whistling", the second is preset 3 which is "mellow", and the third is preset 4 which is "singing".  I couldn't find good D-Lev matches for EPro presets 5 & 6, it would likely take a different synth topology to do them any justice.  https://d-lev.com/audio/2023-06-24_weeping_epro.mp3

Wow! Really great news!
Are you planning to put the sources on github?
It would really help to contribute into your project.

Evan is going to do that.  You can follow his project on Discord (I'll send you a link).  The main deal is lack of documentation for the FPGA / SW.

I see the FPGA board is sub $30 on alibaba:

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/CoreEP4CE6-EP4CE6E22C8N-EP4CE6-ALTERA-Cyclone-IV_1600128813830.html

It's down to mid $50's at Waveshare:
