I am up early on a Saturday morning and the TV is on a channel that is showing Land of the Lost.  It's a cheaply produced sci-fi childrens show from the 70's that some might remember.  Whenever it gets spooky and aliens come in, I hear what sounds Theremin-like.  Some of it is too quick and precise and sounds programmed, but some of the actual music sounds like it used a Theremin.

As a small child in the early 80's,  waking up early enough on Sat morning to catch a rerun of Land of the Lost was one of my reasons for living.   personally, my favorite Sid & Marty Krofft production- the themes were heavier and more complex (relative to sat morning programming)-  parallel dimensions, fissures in time, kinda like a Doctor Who for kids.   I actually got the complete series on DVD a few years ago and was please to find  that it hold up fairly (again relatively) well.

As for theremin, I dont think I ever heard it on Land of the Lost.   like many low budget sci/fi entries of the time, the sounds effects department was most likely one dude in a room with a prophet 5 (or other synth)  Any theremin-sounding effect was most likely just a cranked portamento control.

Dr. Who for kids, ha ha.  Good one.

I did some searching on LOL and could only find music reviews of the Will Farrell movie.  One reivew mentioned the Theremin used in the ending credits or something.

yeah I could see that in the film.  Horrible btw- oof.  Thankfully it was hugely unsuccessful and did little damage to the integrity of the original series-ha
