There has been a lot of talk about how incredibly “cool”, original and mind-blowing the MOOG ISLAND OF ELECTRONICUS is at NAMM 2016 in Anaheim, California. This is a re-creation of the imaginative display that was originally the brainchild of MOOG marketing guru, David Van Koevering, back in the 1970’s.
It is indeed a highly creative and picturesque display, but as one thereminist pointed out today in a private email, “Nary a theremin in sight.”
This does seem odd, since the theremin was the first love in the life of the late Robert Moog, and the foundation of everything he created throughout his amazing career.

The absolute best reviews of electronic instruments are done by a Brit who refuses to pronounce Moog correctly - anyone who does not know Nick Batt's Sonic Lab reviews needs to check them out. Here are the two from what it looks like are most the stuff shown in that NAMM booth.

"Review" where never is heard a discouraging word. He intentionally pronounces the company name "mooooog" but almost in the same breath Bob's name in the signature "mogue". There's only so much one can do with simple VCO => VCF => VCA and I for one have heard them all way too many times, hard to believe there's a market for this kind of thing anymore. $1500 for polyphony 2? Make it stop.
Strange business where a grown man is pretty much required to wear what looks like a brand new cleaned and pressed hoodie with the hood strings perfectly aligned while pitching products.
