Hello

This is my first post here, I am a french physics student and I have to study the Theremin for a 1-year long project. This is why I want to buid my own Theremin.

I am a bit lost in my search of schematics and components : I want to build an analog theremin, by assempling independent components ( Monopole antenna, Loop antenna, Variable oscillators, Potentiometers, Fixed oscillator, Mixer, Volume Resonant Circuit, Voltage Controlled Amplifier, Audio Amplifier, Speaker and Power Supply) so that I can study tem independently.

So, my first question will be : where could I find these components ? Some of them are easy to find, but I can't find the antennas, and I have some difficulties to find the oscillators. I don't want to spend too much (its first aim is not to play a beautiful sound), so I don't want to buy a kit.

Do you have any tip, any link that could help me ?

Thanks

Thank you very much for replying but I fear that this is nor really what I am looking for : I think I would buy the antennas, which is for me the easiest solution (I don't have access to the materials/machines to make them)

Katarail, why don't you try the pitch only Thierrymin as your first build (link)?  Too many people jump right on something like the Moog Etherwave, which is quite complex.  Or play around with a coil, function generator, and oscilloscope until you understand what is going on.  The antennas aren't magic, you can use almost anything conductive for them, geometry is only important when you're trying to optimize absolutely everything.  Antenna intrinsic capacitance is mostly determined by surface area.
