A Big Briar Etherwave Kit reconfigured and installed inside an orphaned
circa 1939 RCA A-6 table radio cabinet. Inspired by Dave Miller's TVox.
I call mine an AetherVoix...
Volume, Pitch, Waveform and Brightness pots in original radio knob
cabinet positions. Self-contained portable theremin has two internal
switchable speakers behind original and reproduced (cabinet back hinged
) grill cloth (main facing audience, monitor for performer) and output &
headphone jacks. Radio tuner face plate opening now contains Etherwave &
power supply toggles and jewel lights...and a 14 volt basic equalizer
interfaced for further 'sound doctoring'. Main circuit board in intended
Etherwave position - L5, L6 & L7 pots tunable thru precisely located
1/8" holes in cabinet top.
Matching slim tapered leg floor stand base. Amber glass ball on pitch
antennae looks purty. Internal lighting makes playing in the dark fun,
too. I use my Duo-Art piano for accompaniment while flinging out 1920s
fox trots. Cats assume languorous positions of appreciation; neighbors
express puzzlement at un-earthly noises...
