Purchasing a Theremin

Recently i have been obsessed with the Theremin after seeing the British comedian Bill Bailey use one and hearing Led Zeppelin use them.

I would now like to purchase one and have been looking at this one online

I was wondering if anyone owns one of these and could give me some sort of review as to the quality of it. I only want it to make strange noises, not as a very serious instrument.

I think it's probably good for strange noises, but without modifications, not much else. This is also the same theremin as the "Jaycar" model. Check out the theremin gallery (http://www.thereminworld.com/theremins.asp) for links to some articles about how to improve this model.
