Etherwave Pro for sale

One of the last 80 units made by Moog with the Ltd. Edition back in absolute mint condition. Beautiful wood grain in the Maple front. Comes with all the original packaging, gig bag, etc.

I have already been offered $5,000, but am considering additional offers.

I guess I'll wait for Moog's new model to come out, or save my pennies for an RCA, or see if there are any Wavefront Classics around.

I hope that nobody will be so silly to bid more than USD 5000. The price of the new device has been around "only" USD 1500 which already exeeds largely the value of its innards...

Ah, the value of one's innards is all too often determined by the perception of one's exterior or the labor involved in creating it.

One thing's for sure I think, we'll never see a mass produced theremin with this award winning case design again.
That may be the reason for the EWPro's attraction, and its demise.

I cannot wait for the next one

I certainly understand many people's desire for a high quality theremin. Some people may feel it is worth that kind of money, but I can't say that I do.

While I do like the player's side of the Etherwave Pro, I think they missed the mark on the audience side of the instrument. The "special addition" was a definite improvement over the original plain black back, but I believe it sets a bad precedent and may work against them with the release of their next model.

With the release of their new model, some people may again hesitate to purchase early on thinking they will wait for the “special edition” to be released. Again, they may wait too long for something that may not happen only to find that it’s been discontinued.

Many made that mistake when they balked at the price of the Etherwave Pro and now find themselves with no options other than a few scarce and overpriced instruments.
