Zuleika Ziegfield presents... Music Hall Night
(Fri 4th / £6/5 / 8pm)
Following the burlesque success of the March cabaret, the sublime Ms Z returns to roll out the barrel for a night inspired by the great old English Music Hall. Expect ukuleles strumming tunes of days gone by, theremin improvisations from Mr Alexander Thomas, old-time stand-up and, of course, a little tasteful striptease. Drinks promotions will be offered to the fabulously attired, so dust off your glad rags, dig out the good gin and party like it's 1899.

That sounds like a really fun gig.

I think theremin and uke would sound good together.

When I sleep on coaches, I dream music that sounds like theremin & ukelele. It's all very slow and sweet and distant.

However, I won't be collaborating... just playing on my own. I'm not entirely sure who the Ukelele player is yet. The Cube is a brilliant place to play, there's a nice bar area and then there's the cinema space which has a MASSIVE stage and is seated, and it's one of the few places in Bristol with a backstage area. I'm really excited.

Ah, the wonderful thing about the Cube is the complete separation of bar and stage - you could save your eyes from a most epic soiling by going and ordering a glass of fair trade cola, made on-site. Yup. Cola. Or coffee. Or sit in the garden. God I love the Cube.

Wheee. You're from Liverpool - I have family there. My uncle teaches at LIPA.

Might be gigging in the area soon, me and those lovely Mugstar chaps are sorting something out...
