So, what is Matryomin?
It is a combination of a matryoshka and a theremin.
The theremin, which is the world's earliest electronic musical instrument
and is so unique in that it is played without being touched, is housed
inside a wooden figure of a Russian nesting doll, matryoshka.

"The Autumn Matryomin Festival at Odaiba" is a must-see event for whoever loves theremin and Matryomin.
Surely the show will amaze you and entertain you even if you are not familiar with the instrument!

Alas, I don't read Japanese.

Is Masami Takeuchi involved in this festival? Haven't read much about Masami lately -- he is always a source of inspiration.

Hi kkissinger,

Surely Masami is one of the greatest theremin players, based in Nagoya area in Japan.
Though he is not involved in this festival, lots of fabulous thereminists and Matryominists who are active in Tokyo area will appear on the stage.
If you are interested in them, please check out the websites of the performers. Some of them have English pages.

Hi virani,

Thanks! This is very big event!
"Sakura" is Japanese beautiful folk song.
I'm glad that you played this song at France.
