I shall now be taking a couple of days off prior to proceeding with the mySpace publicity campaign. I hope to have some interesting news at the weekend.

And interesting news I have...

Diana Mavroleon has invited me to put together a one hour radio programme (or 30 or 45 minute - my choice) to be broadcast on Resonance 104.4 FM in September. Subject - theremins, UK thereminists and Hands Off 2007.

Rachel (Ninki) will be on the show with me. Now all I have to do is write a script.

The station is streamed live onto the 'net - http://www.resonancefm.com/ and I will ensure we get a recording of it to put online afterwards.

Wonderful news!

I have been listening to the 'Into the Ether' broadcast again over the weekend, and it would be great to be able to do something like that and be able to just focus on the talent in the UK. Hopefully it will give us a boost in membership (or at least readership and Hands Off attendees) - I noticed a little peak in site visits on Saturday - perhaps from audience at the Bomonti?

Nice work, Gordon!

Maybe we can make use of some of your Myspace contacts (haven't forgotten about reviewing them - 1/2 way through...) for the show.

If Rachel is even half as enthusiastic and up-beat as her music, then she'll be an asset to the event (and the radio show)!

I've spent a little time tonight on the theremin.info site, which has added quite a few new features since I last looked around. Things are pretty quiet over there, but I see there is a chat facility. This might be useful if we want to have a discussion that requires more rapid feedback, such as discussing the radio script. I have spent a few minutes in the Spellbound chatroom on the last few Sunday nights (well, Monday mornings), and it was good to chat whilst the show is live, though not ideal if you don't want to be awake at 4am GMT!

... and speaking of theremin.info, I've started a forum thread there for 'Hands Off 2007' discussion. I don't want to fragment the discussion here, but it is just in case there are people who use .info rather than TW and who might miss out on the chance to air their opinions about the event. I'll keep an eye on any posts and feed them back into the relevant topics here.

lol Rupert!

Yours was taken, though, so Gordon had to come up with somehting new.

Gordon, it looks great. I wish I could be there.

Also I had to consider that your stick person seemed to be actively playing his theremin - a very "hands on" approach if you will, whereas I wanted someone that was, very literally, "hands off."

(And in case anyone is concerned, logo person was not harmed in any way during the making of this graphic - no hands were actually removed, the effect was achieved with the aid of a pair of white gloves that blend into the background.)
