The Polyphonic Spree is from Dallas, Texas and is a 23-piece symphonic pop band including a ten-member choir, a pair of keyboardists, percussionist, bassist, guitarist, flautist, trumpeter, trombonist, violist, a French horn player, a theremin player, and an electronic effects wizard.

Ya know gang...
With the almost daily announcements now of bands with theremins;
If this is not the age of Aether Renaissance
with the Theremin reaching higher levels of
acceptance as an instrument,
than I do not know what would be.

The Polyphonic Spree = pwnful. I have their soundtrack to the movie Thumbsucker, it`s a great album for studying to.
It`s right down their lane to have a thereminist. But I think it`s also a bit of a stretch to call them a rock band. Closer to Baroque or Chamber Pop.

Or went back to the old one. When I saw them a few years ago, they had a regular Etherwave.
