I don't if if this has been covered, or is common knowledge, but I just bought a new iphone the other day and one of the rings settings is "Science fiction" guess what the ring is..

Now if only I could play it.

If you want to play your iPhone, the "apps that mention theremin-like amongst their capabilities" count is now at 12.

This (http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2009/06/24/sound-scope-space-iphone-synth/) is the latest, and looks really neat (but not very theremin-like.)

My actual ring-tone is the Midsummer murders theme played by Celia Sheen.

Any questions? ;-)

I currently use the "Science Fiction" ringtone. When I get my iPhone update I plan to get some of Anne Cantelow's lovely ringtones that she has written. I cannot recall her website address at the moment but she is a TW member :) Celia Sheen, eh? I love her sound and her Tony Henk theremin...what a ringtone! I think I might go for Randy George's Daft Punk cover which is available for sale as an mp3 on his website.

Gee, thanks for the kind words, Chillicothe, I did a vanity google search and found this post.

I have a new ringtone-of-the-day feature at cantelow.com (http://cantelow.com). A fresh ringtone appears there each day, in both mp3 and iPhone m4r formats. All are welcome to use them in non-commercial ways.

(I started this project to get myself back in a composing groove after I got distracted for a couple of years. So far, so good, and I'm having great fun with it.)
