2nd episode and the better of the two (http://www.fat-pie.com/spoilsminus2.htm)
1st episode (http://www.fat-pie.com/spoilsminus1.htm)

A theremin is used quite a bit in this rather quirky and disturbing flash cartoon. According to the video's description, the music is performed by Locust Toybox.

Please be aware that this video probably isn't safe for work, and contains some pretty disturbing imagery!

That was two of the most disgusting animation sequences that I have seen of late.
It seems unfortunate that some demented artist has chosen to emulate,(or rip-off), the style of David Lynch, and the tone of the movie 'The Naked Lunch' all in one filthy swatch! PUKE!
The Theremin work seems good though. I wonder who 'really' played that reoccurring phrase?

Yes, David Firth can certainly be very grotesque at times. The toast-boy episodes were by far one of his most disturbing shorts, and I can definitely understand disliking it. His other cartoons are funnier, IMO, such as Salad Fingers - you can check out his other stuff at fat-pie.com.

Anyways, I looked up Locust Toybox on Wikipedia, and it turns out that that is actually the pseudonym David Firth produces music under.

I guess he's not all bad, eh? :P

Having seen those episodes was more than enough for me.. Grotesque? yes.. But there are far more grotesque things I have seen which were more "pleasant" and watchable -

Sad and pointless is how I would describe these "cartoons" - To me, they convey nothing.. Nothing to make one think, nothing to carry any message whether "good" or "evil", nothing which would do anything to motivate me or entertain me or uplift me, or even, really, disturb me.

I wonder if David is suffering from bipolar disorder or schitsophrenia - Whatever - it is not the product of a mind at peace with itself and its place in the world.. In my opinion (and it is only my opinion - and one which I would never wish to see imposed on artists) this kind of sh** should be used by the artist as exorcism if they need it - but should be kept for its "creators eyes only" - Defecation is a required function for an organisms survival - perhaps a similar function is achieved mentally by the kind of defecation demonstrated in these episodes.. But defecation is a private function, and a healthy person does not want to show others the sh** they produce!

Not worth viewing in my opinion - even if it does have a repetitive Theremin sequence.

But, as with everything, someone else will think it is brilliant!

I'm sorry if you found it offensive; that wasn't my intent (hence the disclaimer :P). Just thought some would find the music and video interesting/entertaining.

Those cartoons were only meant to make one go "WTF?" No meaning really, just for the viewer to scratch his head and get a giggle out of the senselessness. That's kind of Firth's sense of humor. There's not much point in trying to analyze them or anything - they are by no means meant to be "brilliant," or "eye-opening" :P

To each his own though. As I said before, Toast-Boy is one of his less funny series.

Couldn't look at that. Loading time was extremely long. Although I have a 18Mbit/s DSL, the animation loaded with 16kbit/s, so I stopped before 30% were loaded. A sign?

I wasn't offended (*). Some of it was a bit strong for me. To be fair, pointlessness, hopelessness, futility and ugliness are difficult subjects even for a very grim humour. You have to be the best to succeed with it. Kafka, for instance. Beckett, Burroughs. Francis Bacon. Chris Morris.

I was reminded of some of the videos on The Residents "The Commercial DVD"

Liked the theremin.

(*) And so what if I was? I'm a grown up. Things offend me from time to time and I get over it. No big deal.

Yes, this should be the norm with most people, but it's surprising how up-in-arms some get over little, tiny things.

Glad you found it to be partially entertaining at least :)

I could not agree more - And I never said that I found it "offensive".

Most of the things I find truly offensive are the every day diet for anyone who watches the news or keeps up with current affairs.. The obsenity 'embedded' in our every day lives - the fact, for example, that in the time it takes me to smoke a cigarrette, a child will have died for want of the the pennies I have just burnt.

And this is the main reason I do not find viewing something like "Toast-boy" worthwhile - There is so much horror and so many REAL issues one can play on, if one wants to shock and disgust people.. And comedy is able to get through on all sorts of issues which people avoid looking at - I have seen this with the likes of Tom Sharpe (Who was banned in South Africa during the aparthied era, and who's books I helped to import and distribute to those who wanted a laugh, but who felt that aparthied was justified) - These OTT comedy portrayals of real situations get through where nothing else can.

It is very strange that a cock-roach butt-f**king the Toast-BOY can be seen as a 'up-in-arms some get over little, tiny things'.
Little, tiny things! Little, tiny PEOPLE we must all protect: Our Children!
This is a form of media hidden animated child pornography.
GROSS!
