The new Reese's candy Halloween commercial prominantly features a very theremin-like "spooky" sound.

I don't believe it is a real theremin as the timbre is not quite right and the vibrato is too mechanical. It is probably either a synth or a digital emulation.

The most recent commercial has not yet made it to the computer screen, but apparently it's not the first time Reese's has given a nod to the theremin.

[edit] Oops! It's been a couple of days since I saw the commercial. It was actually for the Kit-Kat bar. It's also a Hershey's product, although they are now owned by Nestle. [/edit]

That doesn't sound like a theremin to me. I think it's a keyboard synthesizer with a "glide" function. It's hard to say for sure because the instrument, whatever it is, is buried in the track.

It sounds like a keyboard with pitch bend, and vibrato wheels. :)
