"The Wake Wood" (http://www.hammerfilms.com/productions/film/filmid/10/wake-wood), the first movie made by Hammer studios in 30 odd years (though not the first to be released - they decided to bring out the remake of "let the right one in" first), has got a US distribution deal with Dark Sky films... So my theremin contribution to the soundtrack will now be heard in (a limited number of) US Cinemas! I think I may even get a credit which would be a real buzz for me.. It is due to be released in spring 2011 probably around February.. Keep an eye out!

Update: "Wake Wood" is being released on March 25th, with an almost same day (March 28th) DVD release. I finally got to see it as part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival last month. The teaser and trailer are here

There is not much of the theremin on these, but it is quite prominant on the actual soundtrack (though heavily sampled), and I have got my first movie credit! I believe there will be a soundtrack CD released as well...

"Wake Wood" is out on Blu Ray and DVD in the US on the 5th July.

Here is a clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8FEY-AFMMk) that actually has some Theremin on it...

WAKE WOOD looks like a very interesting (and disturbing) movie but there is no theremin in the clip you referenced above. There is a synthesizer playing a high half-flute/half-siren sound and it is certainly effective in the context of the lonely, slightly foreboding musical score, but it is not a theremin.

Great sample though.

At exactly what minute and second do you claim there is a theremin on the track?

That is it. Michael Convertino, the composer has processed it a bit, but it is a theremin...

What type of theremin did you play on the soundrack?

The Etherwave Standard... Played through a polytone baby brute amp, with no effects, so any processing was done by Michael Convertino...
