Yep--makin' a list and checkin' it twice...
Will be making some modifications as per Fred Nachbauer and others. Plan to experiment with different sizes of pitch antennae and induction coils (using a friend's oscilloscope) and post the results (or a link to them) here.
What convinced me was a comment by Lydia Kavina that with only a half hour's practice per day one could play pretty decently in six or seven years.

I stopped into a thrift store yesterday, and found a camera flash (for 87 cents) that had a metal plate in the bottom tapped for a camera tripod--which I have; just the thing to mount my Theremax!
