hi, ive been looking for schematics for a elctro theremin/tannerin also......is the anyone electronically minded enough to suggest a modification for a circuit like this???

http://www.oldtemecula.com/theremin/rs-opticaltheremin/rs-opticaltheremin.htm

mabye replacing the photo transistors with a touch sensitive strip or variable resistor????

i do not know as my knowledge of electronics only extends to fixing my head phones:S :S lol

samwise666 - that's not going to sound much like a tannerin, because it produces a square wave.

I'm afraid I'm not very electronics savvy, so can't suggest a circuit, but I do know that you require a sine wave generator for an authentic tannerin sound.

Sorry I'm not a circuit designer but I have noticed there is a Tannerin on ebay right now (and I'm not the auctioner).

It is not a complete plan, but a guide to how he did it.

The links to audio clips on that site did not work on either of my browsers - Firefox & Safari - so here are direct links...

Square wave soo not too theremin like but im sure someone can come up with a way of shaping the waveform (hint hint)

if you've got a square wave, all you need is a low-pass filter to get a sine wave (but with an adaptated frequency)

Hum I'm studying this ribbon controller, and something's quite disturbing: the resistance set by the ribbon is a linear function of the contact position, and so does the frequency (inverted although), but notes aren't linear in the frequency scale.. (nor really logarithmic).. Do you know a mean to have a linear note response, with constant intervals? (without using a voltage control system)
