I am going to be in Hamburg, Germany next month. Maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle for coffee or something!

I'm sure the wife would love a theremin-related side trip!

When will you be there? I have a 2-3 hour layover in Frankfurt on my way to Egypt in a few weeks. I'd love to meet any German or Egyptian thereminists while I'm traveling!

Are you stopping over at Heathrow?

I live close to Heathrow, BTW, and there's always a lovely warm British beer ready for a passing thereminist at the Charlton Home For The Bewildered.

haha.. I wish! I would definitely take you up on that. This is my 1st international trip for work, but hopefully I'll get some more opportunities in the near future.

EGYPT?! Perhaps I could hide inside your briefcase?

I really want to go to Egypt. Desperately. I only find consolation in the fact that the longer I wait, the more I'll enjoy the trip when I finally get around to it.

I hope to see lots of you at Ethermusic 2006 though (if all goes to plan!)

Yup, I get to spend a week living in the Four Seasons on the Nile and interviewing candidates for my real job. Pretty schweet if you ask me - I'm excited to go.

I won't be taking a briefcase theremin on this trip though... can't imagine getting that through customs :p

So basically, the boss wants you to

A. Go a long way away.
B. Find someone who can do your job.

Hmm.

Doh. Hadn't thought of it that way. Actually, both my boss and his boss are going along... so what does that say about my whole team? :)

That depends.

As you are leaving the office keep a lookout for an employee walking in the opposite direction who avoids making eye contact and tries to conceal a large screwdriver and three brass name plates, just like the ones on your office doors.

Of course, now that you are forewarned, you could always apply a bit of super-glue to your name plate, just to be on the safe side.

Well, I will be in Hamburg from March 16th through the 26th or so....

I am o taking my Theremin, though.

I will just have to pay "air theremin" until I get back home.
