Theremin Music in a Video Game

Hi all,

I have been making video games for about four years. I have recently changed the music for my latest freeware arcade-style game R-Theta II (Expanded Edition), from MIDI format to module format.

The title piece of the game includes a bit of myself playing on the Theremin. There is an opening Theremin 'solo' (though it is more of a glissando), as well as samples of actual notes being played later in the piece.

My game can be found here (at the top of the page), in case you wanted to see (and hear):

Does anyone know of any other video games that use actual recordings of the Theremin? Do you think the eerie music fits my game?

Has anyone tried the game? Does anyone know of other games that make use of the instrument?

Thanks!

Hey, yeah, know of one but haven't heard it yet, remember reading Lydia Kavina played the theremin part on the soundtrack for the game Soul of the Ultimate Nation, composed by Howard Shore.

Howard Shore, as in the composer for Lord of the Rings? I did not know he ever composed for Theremin. I've never played the game. I don't usually play online RPG's.

Thanks for the insight. I'll have to check it out.

He also worked with Lydia on the soundtrack for Ed Wood. Check out this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1otrlPuaMY).

In the rhythym game Gitaroo man there is a whole level that is theremin based, I'll make a thread about it tomorrow as it's really worth hearing.

Interesting find! Although, it seemed as though the instrument in the video was actually a Theremin-like French instrument (I forget the name).

I look forward to seeing that. It's a PSP game, right? Is there a PC version? I don't have PSP.

Did anyone try my game? My Theremin playing is primarily featured in the title-music. Thanks for all of your replies!
