Here is the trailer for the NEW movie version of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" scheduled to hit theaters in December 2008.

Unfortunately, as far as we know, there will be no theremin used in the soundtrack/score.

I forgot to mention...
The movie studio was at Peter Pringle's residence back in May filming Peter playing Sammy (Samuel Hoffman's RCA theremin) for one of the bonus features of the forthcoming DVD release.

Talk about torture. Possibly no theremin, and yet they film the same theremin that was used in the original? Would have been awesome if they used the same one in the actual movie. My hat's off to Peter for at least getting to be filmed for the extras portion of the movie.
