I thought that as you moved further away from a theremin past the zero beat region the pitch was expected to start rising again? My Etherwave plus is just silent past the zero beat region. Is this expected behavior from the Etherwave?

Since there is a kind of "locking" effect when both oscillators are working on very close frequencies (+/- 25Hz) it may happen that they don't unlock when you move behind zero beat.

Try to turn your pitch knob somewhat clockwise, so that the zero beat zone comes nearer to the pitch rod. Now you'll for sure have an audible negative beat zone when you move away.

Ahh yes that does the trick. I was surprised how much I had to compress the field to get the effect though.
