Yeah! Garvan, way to go!
Bow to the crowd!

I like the 'free playing' you do.
Me myself, I'm only able to follow the lead music. When I start improvising, it's disaster.
I hear you can do that.

And I heard a slight vibrato in the first part.
Good!. Like that. :-)

And Gordon.... Now you have mentioned Garvan plays better than you....
When are you going to learn how to play? :-D
Any plans for the near future? (LOL)
(Kidding... kidding...)

Friendly greetings

Rens

P.S. Forgive me my lack of english knowledge.
What are bum notes?

That is where the note you wanted to play, and the note you actually play have absolutely nothing in common, often not even in the same octave...

You can play a thousand right notes, but the one bum note always stands out...

and of course.. How do you know that the "free playing" isn't just me trying to follow the written note (i.e. a whole bunch of bum notes..)

I'm so SO sorry.......
And I was so happy about it. :-)

Only kidding.. I was trying to do a rudimentary harmony, but nonetheless most of the notes did not match what I intended.. as always, it was much better in rehearsal.

Gordon> Thanks for the feedback. I said earlier that I was more windows than Linux, but I am beginning to feel more like Windows 3.1.. I am trying to concentrate on the right hand, hoping that getting the left hand will come as I get more confident...

Unfortunately I have (after a great start) had to stop playing. Just before Christmas I hurt my back. Turns out I have a bulging disk at L5 S1, and I can't play either the guitar or the theremin. It is doing my head in.... I am doing intensive physiotherapy, and I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnell...

Damn.... Bummer!
I hate to hear that Garvan.

What's the prognoses?
Will you heal completly?
How much time is this going to take?

They say another 5 to 6 weeks, but I am a lot better this week than last week. I am tempted to try a few notes and see how it goes...

Very slow progress - I can now play for about 5 minutes, but as soon as I start feeling the pressure on the back, I am stopping immediately. I want to do nothing that will slow down recovery...

It takes time.....
And you have to give it time to.
Bummer Garvan.
But get well in the right way please. :-)
