I'm just curious - what songs have folks been practicing lately?  Have you found anything new you'd recommend adding to the "classic theremin repertoire?"

I've been working a couple of songs from The Muppets: "Man or Muppet", and "Pictures In My Head".  Both are really entertaining for my kids and are somewhat reasonably suited for the theremin IMO.

Ive been practicing "speak softly love" the theme from the godfather, which I think works well enough for the theremin, and is playable. And I've been playing around with 'katyusha' which is simple enough to play, but ive been trying to come up with an interpretation where the theremin adds something, which it is not at the moment.

I've been working on "It Never Entered My Mind" by Lorenz Hart, "Lush Life" by Billy Strayhorn, and "In My Dreams" by Al Anderson.  I don't know if these are suitable candidates for the general theremin literature (although Pamelia Kurstin did a nice job with "Lush Life"), but I like them.  Each is challenging in its own way.

'Man or a Muppet'...I like it!

I've been giving an old Scottish gaelic fiddle air a bash-slow and plaintive!

Sleepwalk.

I love playing it on guitar. Translation to theremin is not that painful, except to my wife.

Nice picks.  They all seem well suited to the theremin.  Moon River and When You Wish Upon A Star are two more I plan to tackle.
