HIWATT ECHO, ALESIS AirFX and Others

Can anyone give me some input on these two devices?  Are they worth it ?  I already have an ETHERWAVE+ .

There are SmartPhone APPS that emulate THEREMINS; does anyone make an APP that is TOUCHLESS ?

Is there a THEREMIN that produces / senses a magnetic field that you would "PLAY" with a small ceramic magnet attached to your fingers ( two sensors pitch AND volume ) ?

Magnets are good for triggering but I found manipulating light as an interesting approach for better finger control.

I have an AirFX - it is not even close to a theremin. Primarily it's a multi-effects pedal with infrared sensors. I have used it on one track in conjunction with my etherwave, a delay and a pitch-shifter - I was happy with the result, but as it involved me weaving myself into a cat's cradle of wiring and occasionally playing the pitch rod with my forehead, I have not repeated the exercise.
