Everyone who has built a theremin (or tried) knows how hard it can be to find those pesky tunable coils. Here are a few possibilities:
Coilcraft (a.k.a. Inductors.com)
- Coilcraft has a wide variety of inductors available. You can even order samples.
Bell Industries, Inc.
- J.W. Miller coils are mentioned in many schematics.
I have been told that the ones needed (#9001 series) are non-standard and
therefore rather expensive.

Ocean State Electronics
- Ocean State sells forms for winding your own coils. The ranges aren't perfect, but they should be close enough to do the job.

some of those hard-to-locate theremin parts here.
