I think probably the most important thing for anyone considering a similar endeavour is that they should have only the vaguest idea of the effort and complexities they are letting themselves in for.
This is the second time I have initiated a project of this size - you'd think I would have learned my lesson!
Nonetheless, your encouraging words are very well timed, omhoge - I'm going through the process of contacting people who have offered to play and firming up the arrangements - fortunately the vast majority of those I have heard back from are still up for it, but I've been in something of a blue funk today from losing one of my Brits. :-(
BUT - let's keep it positive - I also confirmed yesterday that we will have at least one, and possibly two RCAs. One courtesy of Richard Cole, curator of the Musical Museum (http://musicalmuseum.co.uk), and guardian of Musaire's theremins, (who has confirmed and will be speaking about Musaire and the early days) and also I understand that Lucy Bigelow Rosen's (I think - I was told the name in a phone call and forgot to make a note of it) R.C.A. is currently in repair with Jake Rothman in the hope that it will be playable by the symposium.
I also have something else up my sleeve that I don't want to mention just yet. :-)
So at the moment my emotions are up and down like a yo-yo but on average I am still feeling very positive about the whole thing.
And that's another good tip for anyone - keep a positive attitude!
