Oh-oh! You misunderstood me! Never put the power supply in the box! This will trouble the theremin because of strong electrical and magnetic fields!

What I tried to describe (sorry for my poor English, but I'm French and German native speaker) was that I fixed a DC outlet in the back side of the box in order to use different !external! power supplies if necessary.

Oh yeah... (duh..) I certainly should know better than to put the PS inside the box. Lots of RF, no?

Oh, that's where I misunderstood. Mine already has the DC power outlet, without the power cable. So yes, I can just plug a power supply into it.

I see lots of information here about the power supply issue, but I am curious who here busks (weather permitting), where they go, how often, how long you play at a time, and how much you have made, or any other stories you would like to share. I am putting together a busking group this summer in my home town, and we plan on taking it on the road late summer our schedules permitting...

I do not go busking. I wait until my neighborhood offers me money in order to stop me playing... ;-)

When the weather's good, I busk in an old square/parking lot across from a hotel and a couple of coffee shops. I play for a couple of hours or so off my jump start batteries. If there's some event going on, I might make $20 an hour, but more generally, I get maybe $5 or less--it's for the inspiration, the thrill, the practice.

Mine is a small city. If I hit San Francisco, I'm quite sure I could make some more serious dough--but I'm not sure it's worth the trouble.
