Hi all.

Since I am in the process of building my Theremax, i've always played my modded Jaycar theremin. Personally i've never liked pitch preview but when your working with a piece that likes to jump everwhere it seems kinda necessary. Anyway to cut to the point i had a thought about using pitch preview on the jaycar theremin.

My plan would involve taking the output signal and dividing into two signals (with a circuit like this: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Studio/2987/split.gif) and amplifing one channel while leaving the other normal (the main output).

If you still with me thats good! Next with the signal that has been amplified, you attach a potentiometer and and jack. Next you put another potentiometer on the unamplified output signal and also connect a jack to that as well.

What this does is give you two signals. One signal which has been amplified and the other which has been left as normal. So now here comes the magic. When you raise the volume on the theremin (with your hand) the amplifed channel will sound before the main output (if you set the potentiometer right) thus giving you a way to hear what your doing when you lift your hand a little.

Now i'm not sure if it will work but i had the idea on the bus and thought i'd share it with you folk.

Any thoughts?

P.S. You may have to set the volume trim knob to a higher setting to make this work. I will personally try this on the weekend when i have some time

Tim
