I am very happy to report that my part of the project is now finished. Gabby is downstairs and sitting on top of my Fender KXR100 keyboard amplifier. She sounds wonderful. Its hard to describe how much better things are working now that everything is screwed down and secured in place. The open cabinet looks great, even though its intended to be temporary.

The next phase of the project will be in the hands of a master carpenter who will fashion an RCA look a like cabinet crafted around the dimensions of this setup. We'll probably see the gentlemen around Thanksgiving, as he lives in my wife's hometown, and that's where we typically go.

I will be posting pictures and sound files as soon as I can. The experience of powering up the theremin and playing it for the first time in its assembled state, and having everything work well, was religious. I did in fact thank God for his gifts he has given me.

Passed the smoke test, properly grounded, didn't light up your life when you switched it on, and sounds good too? What more could one ask for! I look forward to the photos and sound clips.

[I am reminded of an Edwardian detective story, "Death Over the Air" (author not remembered) that involved a booby-trapped radio that electrocuted the victim when he tuned it to the station on which he always listened to the news after dinner.]

Congratulations, and thanks for posting the videos and photos! It's beautiful. I find myself seized by the urge to run out and start buying vacuum tubes, some copper wire...

Seriously though, thanks. Believe it or not, this is its temporary enclosure. My bride is going to get a pro cabinet maker her family knows to put it in a faux RCA look-a-like enclosure. However, this has a quirky science fair look to it. But the coils are exposed and fragile. This was meant to get it together and playable in the meanwhile while the final cabinet is under construction. We see the guy during Thanksgiving.
