ghost & theremin

Can a ghost effect a theremin. If it came in contact with the field whould it change the pich has any one had this happen.This? came to me while shopping and seeing all the holloween stuff out

I would think not. A ghost would have to be able to be a partial conductor to ground in order to effect a Theremin, and since I can only assume that ghosts are massless, they would be very poor conductors.

I am sorry to burst your bubble, but ghosts cannot affect theremins because they are entirely fictional, and do not actually exist in the real world. I know they can seem very real to some people, and every culture has stories and reported sightings of them, but really, when you think about it, it is a bit preposterous. I mean, a magical box that sings when you wave your hands around it? Ridiculous.

Of course, if there were [i]real[/i] theremins they would probably work by so-called electrickery, a theoretical substance which is claimed to have many strange properties, including the ability to make one's hair stand on end. As people's hair [i]does[/i] stand on end in the presence of a ghost we might well surmise that ectoplasm, the stuff that spirits and ghosts are made of, has some sort of electrickle properties and would interact with a theremin.
