Folks,

I have a beautifully restored RCA Theremin for sale. I have been the fortunate owner for about 5 yrs. It was originally in the famous Milhous Collection of rare instruments.  It was purchased at the RM auction in Feb 2012 by a Reggae Record Producer for $16,000 (as evidenced by the link below). I was fortunate to acquire it in late 2012 directly from him, after he used it for an album he was recording.  Since I have owned it, it has remained in my climate controlled house and has only had minimal use.  After speaking to the former conservator for the Milhous Collection, I suspect it is one of the finest restored Theremin's in the country. Everything in their collection underwent no-expense spared restorations.  To the best of my knowledge, it has no current needs.  It comes with 2 large wooden crates that were custom made for it. It is located in NE Florida.

Please call 904-447-7815 if you have serious interest.  I am asking $15k, and am open to reasonable offers.

Here is the 2012 Auction description and a few photos. It remains in similar condition.

Have some photos, but can't figure out how to add them. Overall, it's a lovely piece. Prior 2012 Auction photos I guess will have to do.

Will probably put on eBay shortly.  Neil Young's theremin sold for $27,500, and it wasn't nearly as nice.

Some additional info just sent to me from the experts at RCATheremin.com, who are familiar with this particular Theremin:

Of particular noteworthy value is that the speaker stand that accompanies the Theremin is a modern reproduction of the 1930s speakers that Leon Theremin himself designed. He had multiple speakers like this built, and they can be seen in many of the historical Theremin photos of the period. This one was made by master craftsman and respected Theremin restorer Floyd Engels. He only made about a dozen of these, and they are very sought after and treasured in the Theremin community. The speaker itself is also a special speaker called a “Claratone” and was designed and custom built for another Theremin restorer/owner well known in the Theremin community. These speakers are especially designed to sound great with RCA Theremins.
