Quoting a fake TV doctor to support your argument is particularly ironic.

I've experienced a certain level of incompetency in the medical profession, though probably less than in my own profession (we're only human after all), but it hasn't turned me into an anti-vaxxer.

One can be a contrarian, an agent of chaos, a provocateur, etc. but it seems needlessly reckless in this case when it involves spreading misinformation, or publicly distorting real risk.

We get lied to all the time, but this doesn't appear to be one of those cases.  I would be thrilled to be wrong here.

There's a certain level of hysteria in the press, which actually seems warranted for once.  What I don't get is the "hysteria to the hysteria" reaction it seems to be provoking.  It's like climate change denialists (now there's a "hidden" agenda for you), but in fast-forward, coming out of the woodwork.

Fake TV doctors have writers who consult medical experts. Real doctors generally do not. Over half of my ailments have been cured by Dr. Google, after real doctors had no clue or no solution. Sometimes Dr. Google confirms that I had the right diagnosis and treatment in the first place. The 5th orthopedic doctor who fixed my wrist, did so as per my instruction, not his plan. Which is why he actually fixed it. Otherwise I would have required more surgery. Unfortunately another TV show, "The Resident" give one a better clue about the problems associated with the current practice of medicine. AS for the press, mind control and not very clever mind control at that. Those who sell lies, hate and fear are not to be trusted, ever. Nor anyone or organization that cons people into hating the President of the United States. No, I didn't vote for him, but I am a grown up. A rare thing now.

I agree 100% and always do the cyber diagnosis and then test my doctor with it!

something that was hyped as safe and effective and then mandated has ruined my life. 6 days in the hospital and 5 months of pain and misery and handicapped. So I don't play as well now.

Rupert, I wish you the best. I myself am winding down a lot. My self-funded food pantry pays the rent of a poor family of six near you, 3000 miles away from me. On Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg across from the large park. I like those big snapping turtles in the ponds.

"you'll never know how" quoted on one of the later ones.

I'm winding down too.
