I want to build an OpenTheremin... but the kicad files on github (here:  https://github.com/GaudiLabs/OpenThereminV4/tree/main/Electronics )   appear to be downlevel compared to jpg pictures in that same folder.

Can anyone steer me on where to find the latet OpenTheremin files?

Or is OpenTheremin still a thing?  Has it been supersceded by something better?

Any help is appreciated.

Building an open theremin v4 yourself is complicated since it uses lots of SMD components. And it’s not longer an Arduino shield but the AVR328p MCU sits directly on the theremin PCB. Seen the modest retail price of a kit which can be ordered at https://gaudishop.ch/index.php/product-category/opentheremin/ including a readily populated PCB, I doubt, even if you value your working time only at minimum wage, that you can build it cheaper.

Yes, 120euro for everything fully-built is very reasonable.  My problem is this is for a school project, which requires building it yourself, including getting the PCB made.
