Glitch/unstable sounds from theremin

My theremin is making this glitch/twitching sound when I am not playing (or sometimes when I am playing too) and it really annoys me. Is this some sort of hardware issue or just my room is too small and something is interfering with the pitch antenna? I've posted a video on reddit for reference https://www.reddit.com/r/Theremin/comments/18gtwtl/glitch_sound_when_not_playing

I doubt your hardware is bad.  Have you tried it in other rooms / other buildings?  Could be either a grounding issue or RF.  My bet is RF, particularly if it happens more during certain times of day / night.  Does anyone else in the building have an Etherwave?

My first guess is an intermittent connection to the pitch antenna, like a loose base. With a magnifying glass carefully inspect the wires on each side of the three inline coils. Touch them gently with something, like a straw.

Merry Christmas
