This page may take a while to load completely. Please have patience.
For convenience, I've split the photo gallery into 3 pages.

Jason and Scott
Here's a picture of me and my father-in-law, Scott, playing
John Prine's "You've Got Gold" at my wedding reception.

My Hybrid Vanguard/Etherwave Theremin
On the outside, this theremin is a Vanguard cabinet from the 1960s
with hand-bent brass antennas. On the inside, it's a Big Briar
Etherwave. The front-panel has space for adding modifications,
such as an audio preview or tuner output. The base is a simple
bedside-table cut to size and stained with a walnut/mahogany
mixture.

ISAC and Jason
Jason Barile (me!) and ISAC, the theremin-playing robot at
the Vanderbilt
University Intelligent Robotics Lab. The soft arms are difficult
to control, but their small oscillations make this robot uniquely
suited for playing the theremin with vibrato.

Reid Welch and Bernice Caster
This photo shows RCA theremin owner Reid Welch with his late
lifelong friend Bernice Caster. Mr. Welch is also a friend of
Clara Rockmore. Once, after tuning her piano, the virtuoso
treated him to a personal theremin lesson. More information
about Mr. Welch's RCA theremin is available on the RCA Registry
page.

David Marine
David plays his Etherwave theremin with several bands (see
Pounder, Dead Voices on Air, and Spasm in the Bands pages)
made up of members of Download, Lab Report, Evil Mothers, and
Pig Face. And yes - he really looks this embossed in real life.

Mike Firis with his PAiA Theremax
Mike is part of the growing theremin scene in Seattle, WA. He has built
two PAiA Theremax's and will soon build an Etherwave and a replica RCA
cabinet as well.

Electromuse I, Nov. 14, 1997
From left to right, thereminists Lorie Merlino, Jason Barile, and Mike Firis.
Electromuse I was a concert by the Northwest
Cyberartists.

Jan Vollaard, aka "Sawman"
Jan Vollaard is a theremin player from Amsterdam, Holland. These pics show his Etherwave
before and after he mounted it inside a clear plexiglass cabinet. Way cool!
