I honestly gave up on this but low and behold the Eyck Method is out!

Press release

The theremin (also called thermenvox or thereminvox)
has been invented by Lew Sergejewitsch Termen in 1920 and is,
up to today, a quite mysterious instrument.
It is probably the first electric instrument ever invented, and the only one
that is being played without actually being touched.
Carolina Eyck was born in 1987 close to Berlin (Germany). She already started
to take theremin lessons at the age of 7. Up to now she can look back
on a remarkable international concerting career.
The SERVI Verlag, Berlin published her Theremin school
"The Art of Playing the Theremin" in February 2006.
With her book Carolina Eyck defines for the first time a systematic method
of playing the theremin. For this she refers to the playing technique of her
longstanding teacher Lydia Kavina (Mosqua). And at the same she feels related
to the credo of Clara Rockmore that is not to purely use the theremin in order to create
sound effects, but rather to interpret the music with a high artistic claim.

The 90 pages of the theremin school include more than 150 exercises and etudes
related to practice, introductory explanations for every chapter and numerous coloured pictures.
Over 20 well-known as well as new pieces of different skill-levels are included within the book.
They will accompany the thereminist up to the stage.

Carolina dropped me a line to tell me this week. Considering my method looks scarily similar to hers crossed with that of P.P, I shall be ordering a copy as soon as I have enough pocket-money.

Does she have any plans for a video?

I am going to order the Pringle DVD soon but I would like to see her methods as well.

I had signed up for a notification on her site over a year ago. There were a lot of javascript errors on the page, and since there was no reply I figured it was a dead end. Then I got the press release from her. I haven't seen any mention of a video from her. And, understandably, the book took a long time to complete so a film might be a ways off.

I like both videos and books so I plan to get her English edition.

The publisher's ordering page mentions a second book with full score/accompaniments to go with the method. But I couldn't find it.

Any one find a link or other way to order the companion book?

I saw her method's outline last summer and seemed very good. And now I got the method and it is as good as I supposed.

Maybe lots of fingerings for me (9!!), but possibly I was using myself as much as hers without noticing.

I think Carolina has made the difference with this seriously published method. I personally recommend it without being payed for saying so, of course :)

Well I'm finding it tough to pay for it.

Have tried two banks and they cannot transfer funds to them with the info. provided by the publisher, and to do a "wire" the fees will cost over twice the price of the book.
Haven't heard back from SERVI about how to get the book.

Any US folks manage it without costly wires fees?

You might not need to... Carolina's sending us an autographed copy to give away in another drawing :) As soon as I have it in hand, I'll start the contest.

Hopefully SERVI can make it available through Amazon.com or other such channels.

Just never been competitive, so that's a long shot for me.

Heard from SERVI they hope to eventually do a pay pal thing or some sort of alternative. I know I'm not alone in this conundrum. Will keep ya posted.

It looks like they are going to be at the cottage industry level for awhile. I suspect they'll need a bigger publisher or distributor to get on Amazon and the major bookstores.
