Actually I did not ignore your explanation, Thierry.

I have heard that explanation before, but I wanted to know if anyone has quantified that "somewhat below the resonant frequency of the pitch osc"

"Uncle Howie" offered the same explanation -- in essence it does act like a standard antenna loading coil to make the antenna seem larger than it is.

You even had a post a ways back "I want to know everything about the antenna" as I recall.

Since I want to wind my own on nonstandard coil forms, it would be very helpful to have a clue as to what inductance might be needed. I will be adding a lot more turns to my existing coils do drop the freq to around 500kHz, using 68pF to 100pF as the "unaffected" capacitance.

Thank you for ignoring my explanation :-(

...thank you, Thierry, after enjoying Gordons excellent (typical english-men knows how to twist the words and meanings) explanation regarding the 'Theremin Idol' on LevNet I had to laugh out loud on your remark...

...I have a great evening reading your posts while sipping that south-african Merlot...
