"This Has This Reader Totally Confused" - ChrisC

Sorry ' bout that Chris!

I had a similar comment from Amey recently, and have now devised a scheme I will use when I post technical stuff on a not-specfically-technical thread.. I think this will avoid anyone wasting their time reading postings which are useless to them.

That last was probably in the 25 to 30 zone..

;-) Fred.

Technical mumbo-jumbo warning:

NERD RATING xx.x. (Max value = 42) . 0 to 5 = likely to be comprehensible to most people. 5 to 10 = likely to be comprehensible to most educated people. 10 to 20 = likely to be comprehensible to most educated technical people. 20 to 35 = likely to be comprehensible to most educated technical people, but of doubtful interest to those who are not nerds. 35 to 42 = Truly of interest only to nerds - may be in the domain of metaphysics!

Paraphrased from memory - YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

FRONKENSTEEN: Igor! Where did you get this creature's brain? Whose was it?

IGOR: I went to the place you told me, and it was in a jar on a shelf. It was marked "Abby" somebody. I can't remember the last name....."Normal" or something like that....Abby Normal.....

FRONKENSTEEN: Oh, No! ABNORMAL!!!

Im just waiting for them to find a normal theremin-playing Martian with this new rover theyve just landed!

I recon mars is the ideal place for a theremin -

So little atmosphere that nobody could hear it! Ha Ha Ha..

Sorry folks - im in a really silly mood.. still, its better than that bigheaded critical mood I sometimes subject people here to -

So Christopher - If I have upset you, I am truly truly sorry.. I was in a foul mood when I posted my last reply to you - I deleted the posting almost immediately, but I fear that you might just have caught it.. If you did, please accept my humble apology (well, I apologise even if you didnt see it - )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kW6cjZVh3CA

I'm going to say it was done with a keyboard and a pitch wheel. It doesnt even look like there is a phone jack plugged in to her. All the electronics next to the Vol. antenna as well?! I don't know about all that. If its real I may have to pick up guitar

Its  about as "real" as the tooth fairy, the Genesis creation story, or eternal unconditional love... Except that those last 3 are sometimes more convincing that this "theremin playing" was.

I dont think it was even a pitch wheel - just a bit of portamento.. "I only got this theremin a few days ago" - Yeah! And you havent worked out how to plug it in yet! ;-)
