I have built a theremin using the RCA AR-1264 Schematic with slight changes of some of the values provided by mark m. and aurthor h. Is the theremax theremin a Transistor based theremin or a Tube based theremin?

I am in the process of building an RCA replica from the values provided by Mark. I would be very interested in any component changes you made beyond his suggestions.

I posted a pic of my homebrew theremin on my web site:

This is my 4th theremin and the first one that is completely solid state. Since it's solid state, the case is mostly empty space, but it does need the height for the large pitch and volume coils (in the style of Léon Theremin).

This is a very good playing instrument, with pleasing pitch linearity and spacing, and fast volume control with good dynamic range.

The antennas are removable and stored in the case for transport, along with the power supply (not shown), sandwiches, beer, etc.

I'll being putting the schematic online after I clean them up a bit.

That doesn't look half bad, Ted! I look forward to seeing the schematics.

I am just about to build a PAiA Theremax (9505) plus MIDI Fader (9201FK) into an old six-switch (original model) Atari 2600 case, sadly gutted - the joysticks and Atari still worked! Maybe I will install them into a Nike shoebox for playing time. :)

Anyway, I have some pressing questions regarding antennae before I commence with designing the mod of my setup, so if anybody could help out I would be extremely grateful.

My whole life's backwards.

When I got my kit the whole section on making it left handed was missing, and had to have sent to me (pre-email)
