Etherwave Standard Serial number

Is there an estimate (or even a source) on how many EW Standards have been made - and when?

I read a post somewhere else suggesting a SN of "below 2000" denoted a rather old instrument.

Well, my BigBriar model has SN 266 and it would be nice to know/imagine the thing might have some history.

I'd say that one has history just in the fact that it was under the Big Briar flag alone.

To date, according to Moog Music, aproximately 15,000 Etherwave Standards have been manufactured.

Mine's number 14,014 I got it just recently. 15,000 seems about right.

My Big Briar Etherwave is number 2714.

Nephros, I would venture to guess that yours has a toggle switch instead of a rocker for the power, correct?

 

I have Big Briar Etherwave 041 and Signature Series Etherwave 007.  I've never actually owned a "Moog" branded Etherwave :)
